A contentious community forum on proposed renovations to Charlottesville’s jailhouse got off to a rocky start Thursday evening, when a participant who had joined virtually via Zoom appeared to be vigorously masturbating on camera. Twenty minutes into the hybrid meeting, those attending in-person at Carver Recreation Center noticed unusual sounds, including moans, coming from the speaker of the computer being used to broadcast the session to a virtual audience.
